How does one change in the course of a single day? This painting and its companion were an experiment in which I set my easel before a mirror and during the course of a day's living, when I observed an aspect change in myself (for example, feeling powerful or lonely), I would go to the mirror and attempt to record the mood. -Lawrence Strauss
